File The Trinity: Towards a Model of Learning Objects
This article investigates questions regarding the setup and reusability of Learning Objects. The authors propose Learning Objects (LOs) as compound objects, consisting of an Information Object (IO) and an Educational Scenario (ES). These two parts are linked together by a specified Learning Target (LT), which is modeled after the taxonomy by Anderson & Krathwohl (2001). In order to improve the concepts regarding the reusability of Learning Objects, this article analyzes the different components of the LO and their relationships to each other. Educational Scenarios (ES) are described as part of a hierarchy of different levels within the educational framework. The authors propose that a high reusability for Learning Objects is achieved through a flexible setup and reusability of the inner components of the Learning Object.
